Show-Me State Games
Sponsoring the Cigs Race & Health Fair
April 7, 2007
The Show-Me STATE GAMES (SMSG), an Olympic-style sports festival, is
a non-profit organization devoted to inspiring all Missourians of every
age and skill level to stay physically active.

New sports have been added to the 23rd Annual
Show-Me STATE GAMES for 2007, including lacrosse, cheerleading and darts.
These sports and over 40 others offered in the Show-Me STATE GAMES
should ensure once again that we indeed have the largest State Games
in the nation, a title that all Missourians can be proud of. The GAMES
will be held July 20-22, 27-29, and August 3-5 in Columbia. Ice hockey
and paintball competitions are held in Springfield (Paintball is also
held in Columbia). Opening ceremonies will be July 20th, 2007, at 7:00
PM in the Mizzou Arena.
As the GAMES have continued to grow, they are now truly a year round activity.
Included among the activities hosted by the SMSG are the MFA Oil
Break Time Shootout, a high school basketball shootout which features
some of Missouri's finest high school basketball teams and takes place
in January at Mizzou Arena; Shape Up Missouri, a wellness initiative
which provides kids and adults an opportunity to lose weight and get
fit, which is held from January 22-April 16 and from September 17-November
19, 2007 ; Youth Basketball Tournament, to be held February 23-25, 2007;
the Junior High Basketball Tournament from March 23-25, 2007; the Hooah!
Sports Challenge at Ft. Leonard Wood from April 27-29, 2007; the Salton
SMSG Benefit Golf Tournament on May 4, 2007; the Missouri State Senior
Games from June 7-10; and the 3 v 3 SoccerFest to be held June 1-3 and
November 17-18, 2007. This list continues to grow as the GAMES looks
to add even more sports, competitors, and host cities in the
years to come.
